about ME.....well, I'm 43yrs old. Been a wife for 22+yrs to the same uber-nerd hubby and we have 4 great kids on a good day,(otherwise they are great). Our oldest son is married to a great gal, which they produce 2 absolutely beautiful granddaughters!! Ok, so that was the family dynamic in a nutshell.
JUST ME. Again, 43yrs, diabetic and worn down. I am 174lbs and very short (4'7") which gives me a body fat of 50%. No lying, I'm very round like a Ritz cracker.
FOOD:
My thinking of food was just to get something into the bellies of the family and be happy they are feed. That really consisted of a lot of carby foods....spagetti, noodles, rice, biscuits, you get the idea. Well, now that my kids are pretty much grown and getting picky of what they are eating (and causes some fighting) I am wanting to get healthier. I know I need to change the way I think of food. Goal, no longer think food is just to fill your belly but to just satify the hunger with well portioned meals/snacks.
EXERCISE:
I hate exercising!! I know I want to have the arms of Jillian Michaels and the body of any fit person with abs and NO flab. I do like my legs, though! I have tried P90X and it has work, I felt energy and able to move more but the problem I had was I couldn't relax my neck area. One day I ended up shifting a bone in my neck causing me to be dizzy for a long while (still get a dizzy spell once in a while, dont like!!). Hubby thinks I dont like working out because Im afraid that Im going to get buff like a body builder but the truth is I JUST DONT LIKE THE WORK PERIOD! I would prefer to shop, read, photography, or travel to working out. So, again....I HATE EXERCISING. but I will be doing it to get fit!
DIABETIC:
I don't know much about being a diabetic other than my levels should be around 110 in the morning. I check my blood levels in the morning. I also know that if I eat too much carbs, I will fall asleep wherever I sit. But if I have too much carbs for too long I will end up with a yeast infection. So, note if you are having infections and sleepy.....go check it with your doctor. These are just my indicators of my diabetes.
So, keep in tune to us and watch us melt away. Lets be friends!
